Patient Confidentiality

We collect information about patients so that the best quality health and care services can be provided. We work to ensure this information is managed, stored and used securely. A more detailed fact sheet has been produced for clinical staff and data protection officers about the processing of personal health records to inform the counselling of patients who ask for further details specifically about cancer information.

ISD have also published a leaflet ‘Safe and secure use of personal health information’ (September 2015) which explains how ISD ensures information is managed, stored and used securely.
