Prescribing Indicators Report

Antibacterial Primary Care Prescribing Indicators

Following discussion at SAPG and in consultation with NHS Board Antimicrobial Management Teams and other stakeholders, a set of national prescribing indicators relating to the use of systemic antibacterials in primary care was developed for Scotland.

Information from these indicators has been summarised in a report which can be accessed from the links. These reports focus on the indicators related to the initial priority areas for SAPG; restricting the use of antibacterials associated with a higher risk of Clostridium difficile infection, promotion of recommended antibacterials and minimising unnecessary prescribing.

Standard reports are available for authorised PRISMS users to easily replicate the figures published in the Primary Care Prescribing Indicators report at a number of different geographical levels including NHS Board, CHP and GP practice.
