Better Together - Scotland's Patient Experience Programme
Better Together, Scotland's Patient Experience Programme, supports the aims of NHS Scotland's Quality Strategy by contributing to the delivery of high quality, equitable, person-centred care. Funded by the Scottish Government, the programme, a partnership between NHS Boards, GP practices, ISD and national improvement programmes, provides a basis for the measurement of healthcare quality as experienced by service users across Scotland.
As part of the programme, patient experiences of NHS healthcare in Scotland are collected using various approaches including surveys and focus groups. ISD analyses this information and produces hospital and Health Board level reports that ensure the design and delivery of services by NHS boards is informed by patient views gathered through the use of practical techniques and tools. Patient Experience also features as one of the high-level quality strategy measures within the Quality Measures Framework.
