General
The DQA team is responsible for evaluating and ensuring SMR datasets are accurate, consistent and comparable across time and between sources. The team also works on non-SMR related data, for example, looking at the application of waiting times guidelines. Data quality assurance underpins much of the work which ISD undertakes on behalf of NHS Scotland as the quality of national data is key to all those who use it both internally and externally and without quality, it would be impossible to interpret results with any accuracy or conviction.
