Accessing Outpatients (SMR00)

The Outpatients (SMR00) data mart contains information from 1 January 1997 to present day for outpatient appointments in NHSScotland. The data within it is updated on a monthly basis.

What the data mart is used for

The Outpatients (SMR00) data mart is used for calculating waiting times for outpatient appointments and analysis of Did Not Attend (DNA) rates. There is also the ability to analyse procedures carried out in an outpatient setting however this information is at a developmental stage.

Accessing the Outpatients (SMR00) data mart

The data mart is accessed through the NHSScotland Corporate Data Warehouse and is queried using Business Objects XI (BOXI). See 'Accessing the Oupatients (SMR00) data mart' for further information.

Scottish Health Information Service

The data mart has been released as part of ISD's Scottish Health Information Service (SHIS) programme. SHIS is enabling NHS Boards to carry out analyses locally on ISD-held data marts. SHIS also supports the development of approaches to data sharing across NHS Boards to facilitate cross site comparison and identification of good practice. More information on SHIS is available at www.isdscotland.org/shis.
