| A&D | Architecture And Design Division | The eHealth Architecture and Design (A and D) Division supports the design and delivery of a coherent IT architecture for NHS Scotland. It works alongside other Divisions to support the delivery of the Better Health, Better Care and the eHealth Strategy 2008 to 2011. |
| CCLG | Clinical Change Leadership Group | The Clinical Change Leadership Group (CCLG) was established to bring together senior clinicians from across NHS Scotland, who are involved in eHealth, and who provide clinical advice to the national eHealth Programme Board. |
| CDSIS | Clinical Data Structure & Implementation Support | Is a component work stream of the Data Recording Advisory Service. Its main function is to provide and maintain a healthcare model to aid the location and structuring of healthcare information. CDSIS also provide an implementation support service to aid customers with their data recording needs. |
| CHH Bundle | Compound Healthcare Headings Bundle | CHH Bundles are ‘ready made’ grouping of CHH model data items to support a variety of identified needs (e.g. eForms, eHealth Standards, Templates). |

| CLoVE | Clove Validation | This software is provided by NSS ISD Scotland for NHS Scotland customers (as a download) and used by many Scottish hospitals to validate Scottish Morbidity Returns (SMR's) from their local Patient Administration System for submission to ISD Scotland. Clove software can be used to validate SMR's for Outpatient, General Inpatient and Daycase, Maternity, Mental Health, Neonatal and Geriatric Long Stay Records. |
| CPMG | Clinical Portfolio Management Group | The eHealth Programme has established 4 Portfolio Management Groups (PMGs) to oversee and help implement key eHealth systems and products through their operational shelf-lives. Groups have been established in 4 categories; Clinical, Public Health, Business Systems, and Infrastructure. |
| CUSTOMER | Customer | Who the Data Standards Team are engaging or collaborating with (can be an NHS Board(s), NHS System developer(s), Commercial suppliers of I.T to NHS Scotland, NSS, and S.G.H.D.). |
| GUI | Graphical User Interface | A graphical user interface (GUI), often pronounced gooey or sometimes the “Front end” is a type of user interface that allows users to interact with the underlying program without have to see the source code, because the GUI presents the code in a intuitive graphical way. | HCC | Healthcare Continuum | Is defined as matching the patient's needs with the appropriate level and type of medical, health or social service. |
| ICP | Integrated Care Pathways (ICPs) | ICP’s provide a template for multi-disciplinary care that is evidence-based and coordinated. An ICP determines locally agreed multidisciplinary and multi-agency practice, based on guidelines and evidence where available for a specific patient/client group. It forms all or part of the clinical record, documents the care given, and facilitates the evaluation of outcomes for continuous quality improvement. | NCDDP | National Clinical Dataset Development Programme |
NCDDP was commissioned by the Chief Medical Officer to support clinicians developing national clinical data standards. The NCDDP and the clinical data standards were developed are an essential element of the move towards electronic patient records. Their vision was "to support clinicians to develop sets of interoperable national data standards to facilitate the implementation of integrated care records across NHS Scotland". During the life of NCDDP (2003-2010), 300+ clinicians contributed to the development of 3000+ clinical data standards across 74 sets of data standards. The learning from NCDDP has been incorporated into the CDSIS workstream of the NHS Scotland Data Advisory Service which was established on 1st April 2010. |
| NHS SCOTLAND DATA RECORDING ADVISORY SERVICE | NHS Scotland Data Recording Advisory Service | Data Recording Advisory Service (ISD's NCDDP, Definitions and Standards and Terminology work streams were re-aligned in April 2010 to provide a new integrated Data Recording Advisory Service.
