Mental Health - Introduction

Vision

To be a valued partner in the improvement of the quality of mental health care by improving mental health information.

Aims

  • To generate high quality information via primary data collection and secondary data analyses.
  • To work in partnership with other organisations to ensure that programme outputs are relevant to key stakeholders in the field of mental health care (e.g. policy makers, practitioners, academics, media).
  • To provide objective and scientifically rigorous interpretations of mental illness data/information.
  • To support national level working groups through the provision of technical advice on uses of information and its generation

Current Projects

The programme is currently working on a number of projects.  For example the Scottish Government Mental Health Division is currently scoping the possibility of a Psychological therapies HEAT access target and the Mental Health Programme is leading on the information and development side of this work.   Plans include a Psychological Therapies Workforce Census, which will be held on Wednesday 12th May this year.

See Psychological Therapies Workforce Census for further information or email nss.isdptcensus@nhs.net
