Outcome Indicator reports have been produced in Scotland since 1993. Many of the older reports are available in paper format only - any enquiries for older reports should be addressed to:

In addition, the November 2003 report  is also available via the NHS Quality Improvement website.   

For the first time in July 2003 four of the previously published indicators were updated and published on the world wide web only (i.e. no printed report was produced). This allows us to provide updated data in a more timely fashion. The 'web indicators' are updated every six months and it is planned over time to increase the number of indicators that are available on the web. These indicators can be accessed via the  Clinical Indicators support team website (CIST).

Development work on the outcome indicators has been carried out for a number of years by CIST. Reports on the work carried out and other useful information can be obtained from their website.
