Whole System Project
The Whole System Project is aimed at understanding how health and social care operate as a whole system. Changes in society or in one part of the system can produce bottlenecks and pressures throughout the system. Identification of points of maximum leverage can inform service improvements and the delivery of appropriate care. The project has focussed initially on the areas of emergency admission and delayed discharge among the elderly.
The Links option gives details of related sites and team members are listed in the Contacts section.
The latest working paper of the Whole System Project 'Factors Associated With Delayed Discharge Following Emergency and Psychiatric Inpatient Admission of Patients Aged 65 and Over. Scotland and NHS Argyll & Clyde 2001' is available from the information page.
