Performance Management Programme

The aim of the Performance Management Programme is to improve the quality of health care by supporting effective performance management

Objectives 2008/09

  • To maintain the HEAT (Health improvement, Efficiency, Access and Treatment) dashboard system and ensure performance management data is updated accurately and to timescale
  • To develop the HEAT dashboard system to take account of changes to targets, and improvements in data sources and software methods
  • To advise the Scottish Government on sources and methods for indicators used to measure performance against targets

Programme Summary

The Performance Management Programme (PMP) endeavours to ensure that ISD services are used effectively to support performance management in NHSScotland. The PMP works with the SGHD and NHS Unified Boards to establish an effective programme of information to develop HEAT indicators.

The programme was developed to deliver, maintain and develop a production system for the HEAT dashboard, as well as ensuring that ISD services are used effectively to support performance management by SGHD and NHS Unified Boards.
