TOP 10 CONDITIONS - GP AND PRACTICE NURSE
The chart below shows the estimated contact rates (per 1,000 population) for the ten most common conditions, for GP and practice nurse contacts combined. Estimates are standardised by age, gender and deprivation. These analyses are grouped using Read Code Groupings (RCGs)
The data show that the condition patients most commonly consulted the GP or practice nurse for in the year 2006/07 was hypertension. More than half of these contacts were with practice nurses (it is the most popular condition to see a practice nurse for). When looking at GP contacts only, the ranking would be quite different ('Digestive/abdominal symptoms & signs' does then end up at the top).
Top-10 lists are provided for all disciplines separately for 2003/04 to 2006/07 in Excel format
