Equality and Diversity Information Development Programme
EDIP's vision is of a health service in which systems are able to collect and share diversity information to support high quality care and promote equality.
Objectives 2008/09
- Support the integration of equality and diversity requirements into all ISD programmes
- Influence all national programmes associated with the eHealth agenda in order to assure equality and diversity commitments
- Support NHS Boards in their implementation of monitoring/profiling their local populations
- Support the development of equality and diversity data in collaboration with Health Scotland's Equalities and Planning Directorate
Programme Summary
The Equality and Diversity Information Programme (EDIP) aims to develop routine reporting of equality and diversity information within NHSScotland.
The EDIP is about:
- Collecting more personal information from patients/carers
- Making sure that everyone benefits from NHS services in irrespective of:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender
- Ethnicity
- Religion/ faith
- Sexual orientation
- Transgender
- Making sure that the NHS in Scotland treats people fairly
