Requesting Information

ISD Scotland's Customer Support Desk provides an information service to organisations and individuals who wish to utilise the data relating to health service activity, manpower and finance from health boards, NHS trusts and GPs which is collected by ISD for NHSScotland. This includes responding to any requests under the auspices of The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (the FOI Act) which came into force on 1 January 2005 and which ISD Scotland fully supports.

What to expect when you contact the Customer Support Desk?
When you are making an enquiry to the Customer Support Desk, a member of staff will take your details and allocate a unique call reference number to your request. These details are forwarded to the relevant support unit within ISD, within an agreed timeframe, where your information request will be dealt with. The Customer Support Desk ensure that ISD publications are obtained and available for distribution on request.

To request further information about ISD, its services and publications, you can telephone the Customer Support Desk on 0131 275 7777 or e-mail at CSD@isd.csa.scot.nhs.uk.

For more details about the principles and procedures, which ISD follows in responding to any request for 'unpublished' information from the databanks held on behalf of the Scottish Executive Health Department and NHSScotland, please view information request protocol version 2.7   link to an adobe pdf file (614KB). This is the most recent revision (June 2007) of the document first published in June 2005. The protocol will continue to evolve.
