Unintentional Injuries

Unintentional injury is one of the most common causes of emergency hospital admissions as it accounts for approximately 1 in 7 of all emergency hospital admissions for adults aged 15 and over.  It is not a main cause of death for this age group.  In 2006, only 1 in 43 deaths were as a result of an unintentional injury.
