Frequently asked questions (FAQs) is another new section that has been added in the March 2007 re-design of the General Ophthalmic Services area.  The list of questions is not exhaustive and will be updated as appropriate.

What is the difference between an optometrist and an optician?
There isn't any difference; the two names are used interchangeably.  Definitions of eye care professionals can be found in Data sources and definitions .

When did sight tests become free for everyone?
1st April 2006.  Sight tests now include a full eye health check and are now commonly referred to as eye examinations.
