News and updates

This section on General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) has been updated on 26 June 2007 in accordance with National Statistics protocols.  Information on eye examinations and voucher claims has been updated to include data for financial year ending 31 March 2007.  Our 'Statistical Publication Notice' explains some of the key points from this release.  The Ophthalmic Home section provides some background information on how ophthalmic data are collected.

The design of the website has also changed this year with a number of new features.  The design changes have been implemented on 30 March 2007.  This section, news and updates, is a new section that provides a summary of the latest available information included in this statistical release and will be updated to reflect the latest information published in future releases.  The left hand navigation bar has been developed to provide easier navigation to the information available on General Ophthalmic Services.  There is also a new List of Tables , which offers easy access to all the numerical analyses contained in these web pages.
