National Clinical Dataset Development Programme (NCDDP)

"Supporting direct patient care through the use of clinical data standards"

The NCDDP Implementation Team will support system developers and suppliers to conform to approved NCDDP Clinical Information Standards, mandated and published in the Health and Social Care Data Dictionary which are a key component of the ehealth strategy for integrated care records across NHS Scotland.

National Clinical Data Standards are available for implementation in any clinical information system.  The NCDDP Implementation Team are also working to plan and develop migration strategies for key national products e.g. SCI Store link to an external web site ,SCI Gateway link to an external web site and SCI IndexISD -SMR and Primary Care systems link to an external web site .

We are currently working with a wide range of system developers and suppliers to implement clinical data standards throughout Scotland - click here to see deployment map.

To support system developers and suppliers, the NCDDP Implementation Team have developed a range of information and support tools to assist in the implementation process. Please contact a member of the implementation team to access guidance on the use of these tools.

The NCDDP Implementation team are committed to supporting the formal NCDDP Change Control process.  This facilitates:

requests from suppliers for changes to existing clinical data standards.
notification from NCDDP to suppliers, of changes to existing clinical data standards.
