Pre-operative Assessment
What should happen if a patient is found to be unfit at a pre-operative assessment?
If the patient has accepted an admission date offer and at pre-operative assessment is deemed to be unfit, the following should happen:

The admission date should be cancelled from the date of the pre-operative assessment and a period of medical unavailability should commence from the date of the pre-operative assessment until the patient is once again available.

If the patient has not been offered and accepted an admission date, a period of medical unavailability would commence from the date of the pre-operative assessment until the patient is once again available.
