LOCAL INFORMATION ON ALCOHOL AND DRUG USE - 2008

INTRODUCTION

This is a compendium of local statistics on alcohol and drug use, brought together from previously published national sources. The statistics are primarily intended to provide easily accessible information to Alcohol and Drug Action Teams to support local planning and service provision. Similar statistics were previously provided in Local Alcohol Profiles (2004 and 2006), published on the Web; and in annual management information for alcohol and drugs (Information Packs) provided to Alcohol and Drug Action Teams for use in completing Corporate Action Plans.

Links have been provided to relevant local information which has been published previously, while new local analysis of national figures for hospital discharges, Scottish Drug Misuse Database, criminal justice offences and traffic incidents has also been included.
