Viewing Documents
Most of the information held within the pages of this site are designed to be read by an internet browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. There are, however, some documents which, due to the more complex nature of their content, are available in other formats.
PDF
Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) is a universal file format that preserves all the fonts, formatting, graphics, and color of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. Adobe PDF files are compact and can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed exactly as intended by anyone with free Adobe Acrobat® Reader®
software. This software lets you open and print the document. Files can also be saved locally for use offline by right clicking on the link and selecting Save target as.
Microsoft Excel
Excel files contain mainly spreadsheet content and can be read using the Microsoft Excel package. This software lets you open and print the document. Files can be saved locally for use offline by right clicking on the link and selecting Save target as.

enables you to open, view, and print Excel workbooks, even if you don't have Excel installed.
Macros and drop down lists are features of Excel that have been utilised by the spreadsheet designer to increase functionality. There are a few problems that can be encountered when using files with macros or drop down lists:
- Macros and drop down lists will only work using Microsoft Excel version 97 or later.
- The security level in Excel can be set up to stop macros from running. To ensure the macros work, in Excel select Tools > Macro > Security?. Set security level to Medium and re-open the file, agreeing with the confirmation messages that may appear.
- Some macros only run when Excel performs a calculation. For these macros, the calculation settings in Excel must be set to automatic. To do this, select Tools > Options?, select the Calculation tab and set calculation to Automatic.
Microsoft Powerpoint
Powerpoint files are mainly for slideshow presentations. Content and can be read using the Microsoft Powerpoint package. This software lets you open and view the presentations. You can also print the slide content. Files can be saved locally for use offline by right clicking on the link and selecting Save target as.

lets you view full-featured presentations created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions, even if you don't have Excel installed.
