Scottish Arthoplasty Project Biennial Report

The Scottish Arthroplasty Project (SAP) aims to encourage continual improvement in the quality of care provided to joint replacement surgery (arthroplasty) patients. This is currently achieved through the auditing of routinely collected SMR01 national data in Scotland.

Estimating the Prevalence of Problem Drug Use in Scotland

The report contains estimates of the prevalence of problem drug use (opiates and benzodiazepines) in 2009/10 for council, Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP), health board (HB),and police force areas in Scotland.

Estimating the Prevalence of Problem Drug Use in Scotland, 2012/13 is rescheduled for Tuesday 28th October 2014 from 24th June 2014. Delivery of the estimates, which are derived from multiple data sources, is overseen by an independent advisory board. Delays to the data collection from a number of external agencies has prohibited the opportunity for ISD to undertake a comprehensive QA and peer review process in advance of publication on Tuesday 24th June 2014. The board recommends that ISD do not publish the current estimates until they have undertaken a full Quality Assurance exercise on all underlying data sources and full peer review of the preferred statistical methods adopted in the calculation of these estimates.
